I know if I was looking for a new therapist in this day and age, I’d have a lot of questions about who they are as a person. One of the best indicators of whether or not therapy will be successful is the “fit” between client and therapist.
Therefore, I want you to know that if there’s anything you need to know about me in order to feel safe sharing your story with me (for example: What do I believe in? How do I vote? What social justice causes are important to me?) then I want you to know you can ask me and I will be honest with you. If you find that my answers don’t align with your worldview, I have a vast referral network and will help you find someone with whom you will feel safe. I take this role very seriously and want you to know I’m on your side.
I’m also passionate about helping others understand themselves and their partners in order that they may deepen and strengthen their relationships. I feel a lack of self-worth is at the core of many mental health issues and I seek to help soothe that conflict using tools you can apply everyday. I am also a licensed clinical addictions counselor and have a heart for working with those battling substance use.
I am a member of the Secular Therapy Project and provide secular therapy services.
Separate from my counseling services, I offer life coaching for adults who want help finding their path or achieving their life goals. I am a lifelong student of relationships and use my experiences and intuition to help others find happiness.
All sessions are provided via telehealth.
I am married to the love of my life, Kenny, and we have a blended family with 5 children, ages 27 to 20. I’m also a proud “K-Ma” to our 1-year-old grandson. We have one very spoiled Yorkie, Phoebe. In my spare time, I love watching the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas Jayhawks, live music and cheering on our high school sports teams. I’ve also been known to hit up a local comedy open mic night or karaoke bar! I love everything about living in Kansas City except the fact that you can get frostbite at a football game.
